Train to Busan is a 2016 South Korean horror action movie directed by Yeon Sang-ho and featuring Gong Yoo, Jung Yu-mi, and Ma Dong-seok. The film takes place mostly on a train to Busan as a zombie apocalypse suddenly breaks out in the country and threatens passenger safety.The film was premiered in the 2016 Cannes Film Festival's Midnight Screenings section on 13 May. The film set a record as the first Korean film of 2016 to break the audience record of more than 10 million theatergoers on 7 August. The film serves as a reunion for Gong Yoo and Jung Yu-mi, both of whom starred in The Crucible in 2011. A sequel, Peninsula, was released July 15, 2020, in South Korea.
